When is the next Avery Ranch Garage Sale?

The next Avery Ranch garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 28th, 2018 from 7 AM to 1 PM. In our experience you’d better get there early to find the best deals. Although there are individuals who hold garage sales throughout the year this is an organized event with around 100 homes expected to participate.

With almost 4,000 homes in the neighborhood the semi-annual Avery Ranch neighborhood garage sale is a great place to buy and sell items. Whether you need to do some spring-cleaning or need to buy lightly used baby toys this is the day to do it.

One of the neighborhood events I look forward to is the semi-annual Avery Ranch garage sale. This event happens in both the spring and the fall. The Fall 2018 Avery Ranch garage sale will take place on Saturday, September 29th, 2018 from 7AM-3PM.

With almost 4,000 homes in the neighborhood there will be plenty of homes selling items. This is a great opportunity to find clothes, toys, bikes and furniture.

One piece of advice is to get started early. Cars will be lined up at 7AM and the great items will sell right away.

One of the reasons I bought our current rental home is I knew there was a new elementary school that would be built in the neighborhood in the next few years.

Now that the school is built the neighborhood has become very desirable and that purchase has turned into a great investment.

Today there are many new schools being built or recently announced. These schools will likely be rated very highly in the future. If you pay attention to announcements about neighborhoods being re-zoned to these new schools I expect there will be some great buying opportunity for long-term investors who understand how these schools will impact real estate values.

The fireworks show originates from the golf course at 10500 Avery Club Dr Austin, TX 78717 starting around 9:00 PM. The fireworks show typically lasts 20-25 minutes.

The best location to view the Avery Ranch Fireworks show is from the Avery Ranch Main Amenity Center (the large pool in the Morningside section of the neighborhood) located at 10121 Morgan Creek Dr (corner of Avery Ranch Blvd and Morgan Creek Dr).

The fireworks can be seen from inside the pool area or from the surrounding park.

Austin Board of REALTORS® releases real estate statistics for June 2015 and mid-year 2015


AUSTIN, Texas – July 21, 2015 – According to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) report released today by the Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR), Austin-area home sales topped 3,000 sales for the first time since July 2013, increasing five percent year-over-year to 3,051 sales for the month of June. Mid-year statistics show that Austin-area home sales increased an average of four percent year-over-year to 13,917, putting 2015 on pace to potentially exceed 2014’s historical high in sales volume.

Last week I heard another Realtor refer to south Austin real estate as a “war zone.” That might be an exaggeration but it’s definitely pretty bad out there.

The number of homes sold in the Austin MLS during March reached an all time high for the month of 2,440. That is a 13% jump from March 2014.

The median price was up 10% and average price up 13% to $334,758.

These numbers don’t tell the whole story. Believe it or not in some parts of our area things are even hotter than those statistics would indicate. Several times in March and April we have seen properties with over 10 offers on them. Many of these homes are selling for well over the asking price.
