Most of my clients don’t know that up until 2010 I also worked as a mortgage broker. My background gives me a unique ability to as a real estate broker to also advise my clients about which mortgage loan and which mortgage company is right for them.

Often being introduced to a mortgage company that is the best fit for a client can be the difference between getting an offer accepted or being able to find a loan program that better meets the client’s needs.

This morning I received this email…

“Thanks for replying, I wanted some information/ direction on purchasing a home for the first time. What is the credit score criteria and income requirements? I currently sit at 600 and know that it has to be worked on before I can qualify. However, I was told my chances of getting a bank repo home or older home was better than qualifying for a brand new home. 2 weeks ago I had credit pulled by LGI and was not impressed with their willingness to advise. I love the Pflugerville,Round Rock area and was not considering Jarrrell Tx. As I was recommended. Do you offer any credit repair programs/ assistance that may help? As I've spent hundreds on other online repair companies that did nothing.”

This woman is frustrated and rightly so. She has been talking with people who aren’t educated on what loan programs are available and have discouraged her from buying a home.

I will refer her to great people that will help her qualify for a mortgage. If only I had talked with her a couple weeks ago it would have saved her all the frustration and discouragement.

If you have questions about which mortgage program would be best for you or need information about how to improve your credit score please call me at 512-791-7473 or email me at eric@koparealestate.com and I would be happy to point you in the right direction for help before you get frustrated.
